- Does the Baumrind parenting style even work/apply abroad? If so:
- What is the most prominent parenting style used in Tibetan families?
- Do these parenting styles cause the same effects consistent with Baumrind’s theory?
- What kinds of relationships do the Tibetan children have with their mothers?
- With their fathers?
- Siblings?
- Extended family? (more in the picture?)
- How do children of one parenting style perform in school vs. another parenting style?
- Is there a difference in all of the above between social classes?
- Is there a difference in all of the above between children who have recently come over and those raised in the village?
- Do they apply the same parenting styles as I’ve studied or are they completely different?
- How does religion play a part into parenting?
- How do the children in the community interact with one another?
- Do the parenting styles lead to increased rate or decreased rate of development? Moral, and cognitive?
- Do the parenting styles change according to the gender of the parent?
- According to the gender of the child?
- According to the order of birth of the children?
- Are the children generally more or less independent?
- Is there a difference of expectations set for the children?
- Is the language development of the children slower because learning multiple languages?
- Is there a healthy attachment between mother/child?
- Father/child?
- Siblings?
- How much are the extended family involved in parenting?
- How can I learn all of these things? (observation, interviews, etc?)
